Jacques has been with EHL Consulting Engineers (an RSV Group linked enterprise) for nine years and is currently appointed as a Director. Included in his portfolio are deep level mining projects, earthing and lightning protection, IT and systems, and new business development.
Jacques' career commenced in the IT industry in 2000 where he worked as a Software Engineer in California, USA. He returned to South Africa in 2002 where he continued in the software development field, primarily focused in the banking sector.
In 2005, Jacques returned to electrical engineering and joined EHL Consulting Engineers as Junior Electrical Engineer where he worked mainly on Anglo Platinum, Stay-In-Business (SIB) projects. In 2007, he was promoted to Project Engineer and managed the Anglo Platinum Amandelbult No 4 Shaft Bulk Power Supply Project, the Impala Platinum No 16 Shaft Koepe Winders (Electrical) Project and the Sasol Mining Thubelisha Shaft (Electrical) Project.
In 2010, Jacques obtained his professional registration and was promoted to Senior Electrical Engineer where he continued to work on the Sasol Mining projects.
In 2012, he was promoted to Technical Manager where he managed deep level projects for EHL, started the EHL earthing and lightning protection department as well as managing IT and systems.
In 2013, Jacques was appointed as Director of EHL Consulting Engineers.
He has implemented the EHL Business Administration System (BAS) which manages most aspects of EHL's business processes in one system; and provides reporting across all departments in the company.
Jacques has a B.Sc. Eng. (Electrical) (UCT) and is registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA. He is a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and the Institute of Directors SA (IoDSA).
