RSV Enco was appointed by Total Coal SA to complete a pre-feasibility study of the exploitation of the Dorstfontein No. 4 seam resources and a feasibility study on the East Mineon coal seams No. 2, 3, 4 and 5. RSV Enco was subsequently awarded the EPCM contract for the execution of the Dorstfontein East Mine.
This project included a detailed mine scheduling for opencast and underground operations; compiling PDFs for bulk water supply, water reticulation on surface and underground coal flow; SLD for bulk power supply and reticulation; a detailed design of the shaft office complex; designing mine access (boxcuts) and all surface and underground conveyors, as well as a discard dump; designing the coal process plant, product stockpile and product dispatch by rail from the mine to Richards Bay.
Throughout the project, RSV Enco provided Project Management; Detailed Mine Scheduling; Boxcut Access Design; Ventilation Design; Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Design; Process Plant Design; Discard Dump (Tailings Dam) Design; Drafting and Quantity Surveying services.
