Mashitu Principal & Sud Geological and Mining Study
Location: Kolwezi District, Katanga Province, DRC
Status: Completed February 2012
In August 2011, RSV Gem was contracted to implement a Geological and Mining Study in support of ENRC's business strategy, which included the fast-tracking of mining operations by utilising a DMS option to generate early revenue.
The project included a geological and mining study for the Mashitu mining targets (Principal and Sud) in the Democratic Republic of Congo for ENRC/Camrose Resources - a leading diversified natural resources group with integrated mining, processing, energy, logistical and marketing operations. The study included geological re-modelling of the deposits and resource estimation to a PFS level. Given that mining was planned to be open-cut, geotechnical and hydrological assessments were undertaken to support optimal design and configuration of the open pits.
