Admiral Bay Zinc Project
Client: Kagara Limited
Location: Kimberley Region, Western Australia
Status: Completed December 2009
RSV Australia was appointed by Kagara Limited in June 2009 to carry out a Pre-feasibility Study on the greenfields Admiral Bay Lead/Zinc Project. The project included all surface and underground services and infrastructure requirements necessary for the exploitation of the Admiral Bay Lead/Zinc orebody at depth (1 450m). This included a processing facility for the subsequent treatment of the underground ore and all associated off-site infrastructure. Prohibitive cost of geological drilling from surface also necessitated the investigation of establishing an underground drilling platform at depth, accessed via a vertical shaft.
The project scope included the interpretation of geological and geotechnical data and conducting a resource estimation. Based on this information, RSV Australia provided a Mine Design, Ventilation Design, Rock Handling System Design, as well as designs for shafts, a processing plant, the village, camp, clinics and all associated infrastructure. RSV Australia also provided the following services: Staffing and Personnel Flow; Water Management; Environmental Permitting Roadmap; Capital Cost Estimates; Operations Cost Estimates; Construction Schedule; Business Risk Assessment; Financial Evaluation; Benchmarking; and a Study Report with recommendations.
