The Palesa Coal Washing plant, located close to Bronkhorstspruit in Mpumalanga, was designed to treat 300tph of run of mine (ROM) coal for both export and Eskom products in Phase I. Allowance was made in the front-end of the plant for a further 300tph in Phase II. The plant has a single wash facility. HCI Khusela Coal (HKC) contracted the services of now RSV (SA) Process Division to assist them in the design and completion of construction of the Palesa Coal Washing Plant.
RSV (SA) Process Division provided full EPCM services for the project, including Engineering (all disciplines), Procurement, Cost Control, Construction Management, Safety Management, Commissioning and overall Project Management.
RSV (SA) Process Division assisted in the design of the plant and completion of the construction according to the design. Commissioning started in February 2010 and was completed by the end of May 2010 with a zero LTIFR.
