Project Scope

ERA commissioned RSV Australia during the second quarter of 2010 to carry out a study to determine the most suitable design for the exploration decline box-cut and portal, compile a budget estimate and schedule and complete the design work for each portal arch. Subsequently, RSV Australia was engaged to carry out the design and provide procurement assistance for the implementation of the project.

The Ranger 3 Uranium Mine is located in the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia.

  • Calculating storm water run-off
  • Designing the high wall portal entrance into decline and associated support structures

  • Designing safety barriers around the box-cut
  • Trade-off on construction techniques
  • Construction schedule
  • Capital cost estimate
  • Procurement strategy
  • Study report with recommendations
  • Final designs and drafting
  • Procurement assistance
