Chemwes Pipeline Project

The Chemwes Pipeline Project comprised the re-mining of the Buffels tailings dumps for the extraction of gold and uranium from these dumps. The purpose of the project was to supply 1,933,000 tpm of ore from the Buffels tailings dumps by a pipeline, approximately 10.5km, to the new Gold and Uranium Plant, located to the east of the existing Chemwes Plant.
RSV (SA) Process Division provided full EPCM services for the project, including Engineering (all disciplines), Procurement, Cost Control, Construction Management, Safety Management, Commissioning and Overall Project Management.
RSV (SA) Process Division assisted in the design of the plant and completion of the construction according to the design. Commissioning started in February 2010 and completed by the end of May 2010 with a zero LTIFR.
